Ford Pro EV Home Charging
Give your business the power of convenience with our one-stop home charging solution, which offers the hardware, installation and software that makes it easier for drivers and fleet managers alike.
The Ford Pro EV Home Charging Solution is backed by a 5-year hardware warranty, a 3-year installation warranty, and a dedicated Ford Pro Customer Success Team that will provide initial training and ongoing support to your business.
Ford Pro Charging Software provides real-time charger status and energy data to support driver reimbursement and allows you to manage charging schedules to take advantage of off-peak energy costs, saving you money.
Depot Charging
Installing Ford Pro connected chargers at your business site will ensure your vehicles are always charged and work-ready. Ford Pro can provide a tailored package to meet your specific depot requirements. This includes all your charging hardware, installation, maintenance, and depot management software to effectively manage your business fleet’s charging needs.
Public Charging
The continuing expansion of the BlueOval Charge Network means you’ll have growing access to one of the largest aggregated public charging networks, with over 600,000 charge points in Europe and over 32,000 in the UK. The BlueOval Charge Network includes operators such as Shell Recharge, IONITY, Allego, Enel X and Aral Pulse, to name a few. Whether you’re travelling in the UK or across Europe, the BlueOval Charge Network allows you to charge your vehicles on the go. Drivers can activate a charge point easily with an RFID fob, Plug & Charge or Ford Charge Assist. Locate convenient charging en route and access real-time availability, cost and charging information. Plus, one monthly bill helps to simplify payments and admin tasks.
Maximising EV Range
Ford Pro E-Telematics has several features that can help maximise the available range of your electric vehicles:
In-vehicle coaching can improve driver efficiency by providing real-time verbal prompts if the system detects undesirable driving practices, like harsh braking or rapid acceleration.
Departure pre-conditioning allows you to warm or cool the propulsion battery and vehicle cabin while the vehicle is plugged into a charger, taking energy from the grid and not from the battery. This means the available energy in the battery can be used to provide maximum range and not wasted conditioning the battery and cabin.
Driver behaviour reporting helps you to identify opportunities for driver efficiency improvements.
You can also choose to add vehicle options such as Smart Acceleration Control and Speed Limiters to maximise range.
What Affects Electric Range?
There are three main considerations when it comes to maximising your electric Ford commercial vehicle’s range. This includes:
Heavy AccelerationEfficiency suffers in all types of vehicles when you accelerate heavy as the engine uses more power. So when you put your foot down, the electric motor has to work harder and, in turn, uses up more battery. Driving at fast speeds also reduces range as you’re more impacted by the road conditions and wind drag. |
Weather & Climate ControlExtremely hot or cold temperatures also may affect battery range. The chemistry of the cell means that you get less driving range in colder climates. Also, using the heating or air-con will reduce your range as this is also powered by the battery. Instead, consider pre-setting the climate control whilst your vehicle is still charging. |
PayloadIf you’re carrying heavy cargo, multiple passengers or both, your Ford commercial vehicle will consume more energy. |
