First BMW service experience. I chose to go with the official representatives rather than local garage. I received a warm Welcome at reception, immediately offered a drink and told to wait for a short period. Thereafter was introduced to my hand over assistant, Helen Smith. Helen quickly identified my lack of knowledge and patiently explained what to expect when getting a service by BMW directly. I appreciated her calls throughout the day to update me on service and MOT progress. I'd like to thank her, receptionists, engineers, valet professionals for being flexible and accommodating towards my family.

I have given five stars, due to the level of service and professionalism, given by Amy. I have used this dealership for years and Amy has always been polite, friendly, helpful, great at communicating and always willing to assist with any queries. Amy is an asset to the dealership and I hope her manager takes note and the time to bare this in mind. Great customer service goes a long way!

Car in today for routine service and MOT, brake pads and discs were nudging advisory last time. Unsurprisingly the fronts needed replacing this time around, rear still with life in them and my annual mileage is very low, so a job for next year. I was able to approve the work on the brakes via the digital journey, but the customer service rep Amy was friendly and clarified the service and MOT process and then the work I had approved over the phone. No complaints really, only reason for the 4 star was because I had ticked the option for a complimentary clean when booking my appointment via the digital journey, but my car definitely hasn’t had this - I’m not sure it had last time it was in for annual checks either from recollection, so might be worth digging into why this isn’t happening.

We have just made a purchase with Philip G, which was a brilliant experience. The dealership itself is inviting, special thanks to Peter on reception who was welcoming and extremely attentive. We were really pleased with the purchase process- Philip clearly explained all options with us and secured us a deal we were very happy with- another thanks to the general sales manager for this also. We would highly recommend purchasing a vehicle with BMW Colchester!

What a GREAT advert Group1 BMW are for a car dealership. We bought our new car from them, and they were perfect each step along the way. Despite us being 176 miles away (and having a car to part exchange), it was as easy as buying it from down the road. Richard Adams couldn't do enough and kept us informed of everything. They gave us a brilliant deal and I was happy with the part exchange too. Our new car was driven up by the awesome Paul who talked us through everything on the car, and took ours back down. These two gentlemen are a real credit to Group 1. When I'm looking to change car again they will be my first port of call. Thanks for making our new purchase an utterly brilliant experience.

How embarrising, when your customer service team calls to follow up on a test drive, whch never took place. I visited BMW Colchester a few weeks ago and arranged a test drive of a X3, had to cancel but asked for a call back to rearrange the following week. Two weeks on took a call this week and the customer service representative asked how the test drive went. I had to explain it had not occurred yet and I thought she was calling to rebook? Sadly not. Clearly Group 1 have issues.

I bought an approved used i3 and arrived at 17.15 with no time to test drive it. On my way home I noticed the steering/suspension rattled going over certain bumps. I recorded the issue and sent it to the sales guy who said they would not do anything about it. I'll wait for it to worsen and get it fixed under warranty. The rest of the car seems mechanically OK. I was also told by the sales person the car had been valeted before I picked it up - it was a very poor job, the car smelt and was dirty. The dealership is 96 miles from where I live. So very reluctant to go back. Not a good intro to BMW ownership. You can hear the noise at the second markers in the following clips: Vid i3 noise – 3secs, 10, 14,15, 25
