Hi and welcome to my review of Group 1 BMW Colchester. An excellent service provided by the dealership. I had the pleasure of dealing with both Jack and Paul… ( who delivered the car) . Jack sent me a personal video of the car, which helped me decide quickly, he answered every question I had ( which was several!) after which I put a deposit down and went to see the car . On arrival the car was beautifully presented, and a test drive undertaken with Jack , all my worries quickly evaporated as he was pleasant, he demonstrated all the functions and let me drive the car in all conditions I wanted to . On arrival back to the dealership I was left alone with the car to make a decision, no high pressure sales tactics where evident through my experience. So I easy decision for me , the car was purchased. As I mentioned earlier, Paul delivered my car to me , at the time arranged. He helped me set up the car to my specifications and explained everything to me . He’s a real gem, polite and easy to talk too. Both Jack and Paul are a credit to the BMW Brand.

I recently travelled around 77 miles from south of London to visit Colchester BMW to view an M4 Competition, and it was worth every mile. From the moment we arrived, Deborah at reception welcomed us with a warm smile and genuine hospitality, offering us drinks and making us feel at home right away. We were then introduced to Neil Laney, who was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Neil was approachable, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable — he answered every single question we had with patience and honesty. Without us even requesting it, Neil kindly offered a test drive, taking the time to explain the car’s features, functions, and everyday practicality. His passion and sincerity made the experience even more special. Earlier that day, I had visited another BMW dealership (Berry BMW) and the customer service there was shockingly poor. The management and overall atmosphere felt cold and unwelcoming, a stark contrast to the warmth and professionalism at Colchester BMW. At Colchester, the entire team was approachable, the atmosphere was relaxed, and we secured a fantastic deal with some great added extras. This was my first performance car purchase, and the whole experience was genuinely exciting and memorable. On collection, I even received a lovely card from the dealership — a thoughtful touch that meant a lot. A huge thank you to Deborah, one of the kindest people I’ve met, and to Neil, who stands out as one of the most honest and genuine salespeople I’ve ever dealt with. I absolutely love the car and can’t wait to return for a second car for my dad soon! Highly recommend Colchester BMW and especially Neil Laney if you’re considering your next car.

Surprisingly good! I felt like I needed to come on here and write a review as I could not fault the service dept on my recent visit. Having had issues in the past (Mini service 5 or so years ago) I vowed to never go back but my normal service person let me down and honestly I could not fault these boys (and girls) after my initial anxiety. Conor and Liam were great when two of my locking wheel bolts would not budge and arranged to take my car to a local machine shop to get them off for me so wheel bolts and brake pads could all be done on one visit rather than me having to go back twice. My car is not standard but not once was I made to feel like they didn't want to help. Courtesy car was also available at very short notice which surprised me so all was sorted within a few days of finding the problem. So thanks once again ... Emily and Ratty (the Mini :-) )

Popped in today for a spare part, a wheel nut key that I had lost! The receptionist and her colleagues there were lovely bubbly people! Very professional, friendly and courteous! 5 stars peeps!

Just took delivery of a used vehicle for Group 1 and I must say the process from start to finish was very smooth. I first spoke to Richard this time last week to enquire. He answered all my questions and sent me a personalised video of the car. We done a deal over the phone and Richard offered to have the car delivered almost 200 miles to me. This was the first time I’ve bought a car without seeing it in person but I felt like I was in safe hands. It was actually a smoother process than most of the other times I’ve been in a dealership and the communication was excellent. Paul delivered the car this morning he was a lovely guy and very knowledgeable of BMWs. Great to meet him. Thank you group 1 for the anmazing experience!

Probably a little late reviewing my recent experience but bought my first BMW from them in January. From the first contact Jack was absolutely amazing! I rang him 3-4 times a day to ask questions but never did he not politely help. I can’t fault the service I have received from start to finish. Being a first time BMW owner, there was a lot of excitement and questions, but they delivered exactly how i’d hoped. Jack is an absolute asset to the business! One very happy customer.
