The Volkswagen ID Family

The ID.3 launch not only signified the launch of a new model, but a new family of pure electric cars, it introduced a new era for the Volkswagen group. 

The ID.3 has a range of up to 336 miles and is designed to be as simple to drive as possible. The 204hp electric drivetrain with no gears ensures the ID.3 is smooth and responsive to provide a fun driving experience whilst still being efficient. Using a rapid charger the ID.3 can be charged from 20% to 80% in just 40 minutes. These factors ensure the ID.3 fits into your life with limited compromises. 

The ID.3 is carbon neutral. VW take responsibility for any emissions during production and delivery and ensure these are offset.

The ID.4 was the second car to join the ID family and offered more space. It featured dramatic design features such as recessed door handles for improved aerodynamics, 3D LED taillights and LED light line across the front and rear. 

The ID.4 with a 77kWh battery has a range of 310 miles and can be charged from 10-80% using a fast charger in approximately 30 minutes. The 150kW option can accelerate from 0-62mph in just 8.5 seconds.

Volkswagen plan to launch a range of sportier electric models which incorporate GTI DNA with that of the ID family. This line up starts with the ID.4 GTX; as dynamic as a GTI, comfortable as an SUV and sustainable as an ID.

The ID.4 GTX features exciting design upgrades with 20” alloy wheels, gloss black details and an exclusive light signature. The upgrades are not just to the design, the ID.4 GTX has tuned springs and shock absorbers, progressive steering and other components similar to those found in a GTI product. 

The final finishing touch are the dual motors which allow the ID.4 GTX to accelerate from 0-62mph in just 6.2 seconds whilst still providing a range of over 300 miles. 

Volkswagen plans a range of models which could join the ID family including; the ID.5 and ID.7 as well as much smaller city car size options. 

The ID.5 is likely to be the next model to be unveiled, blending SUV design with that of a coupe. It will stand out from traditional SUVs due to its sharp and sport looks. Yet the ID.5 won’t only be about looks it will also have a low centre of gravity ensuring a dynamic driving experience and offer up to 335 mile range. A GTX version will complete the ID.5 family promising even more dynamic looks and driving experience.
