The Golf Match has always been a value-conscious choice across the history of the VW Golf.
With a new Match Edition for the Mk7 Golf, things haven't changed. The new Golf Match Edition offers customers around £1,000 of extra equipment for very little outlay.
Fitted with smart 16-inch alloys, the Match makes an impression on the outside, but it's on the inside that most of the benefit can be seen. There's a standard fit 6.5-inch colour touchscreen which includes the Discover Navigation system, with Car-Net Guide to provide dynamic navigation functions.
With Bluetooth mobile phone connection, audio streaming and an eight-speaker multimedia entertainment system, the Match Edition is well equipped for modern life.
Adaptive cruise control with city emergency braking is standard, along with Volkswagen park assist, a reversing camera and high beam assist.
In all the added equipment value is around £1,100, but the Match costs only £100 more to the customer.
The Golf Match Edition is available with a 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine with 123hp, a 108hp 1.6-litre TDI diesel or a 2.0-litre TDI with 148hp. A Bluemotion model is also available using a 1-litre TSI petrol with 113hp - the first petrol-powered Bluemotion Golf.
