What Is Goodwood FOS?
The Goodwood Festival Of Speed is a world renowned show celebrating all things cars. The event is almost 30 years old and has grown in size considerably since it first began.
There is huge amounts to see which explains why many people choose to visit over a couple of days. There is a non stop racing up the hill climb with famous racing drivers driving all sorts of cars, competing to set record times. There are also manufacturer stands allowing you to up and close to new cars, the racing paddocks, driver signings, trade stands and much much more. But arguably most exciting are the car launches and world debuts and this year was no different.

BMW
BMW celebrated 50 years of M Sport at Goodwood and unveiled two new models as part of the celebrations.
The first of which was the first-ever M3 Touring. Fans have been asking for a touring version of the M3 for decades and at last BMW has produced one and its worth the wait.
Based on the current 3-Series Touring the M3 Touring adds aggressive M styling, a 3.0 litre inline-six engine with 503hp and all-wheel drive. Capable of 0-60mph in under 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 155mph the M3 Touring is one of the fastest estate cars ever made. Whilst the 500 litre boot, practical and premium cabin and space for five adults makes this one of the most desirable performance cars around.

The M4 CSL was also debuted at Goodwood. The M4 CSL is a track-focussed, lightweight version of the M4 Competition and offers many upgrades over the model it is based on.
Outside, the M4 CSL features a more aggressive splitter, carbon fibre bonnet and motorsport inspired yellow daytime running lights.
The M4 CSL has a 3.0l twin-turbocharged straight-six engine which produces 550hp to allow acceleration from 0-60mph in 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 191mph.

Jaguar
Limited to just 394 cars, the Edition 1988 is a limited edition Jaguar F-PACE SVR designed to evoke the famous Jaguar XJR-9 racing car.
It features deep Midnight Amethyst paint and gold detailing, with Sunset Gold leaper, rear script signage and 22” Forged Champagne Gold alloy wheels. The Edition 1988 features the same 5.0 litre V8 Supercharged engine with 550PS and upgrades as the rest of the SVR range to ensure a thrilling driving experience.
Inside, the bespoke features continue throughout. Distinct Sunset Gold accents can be found on the front and rear seats, and paddle shifters, while an illuminated treadplate with ‘Edition 1988’ branding hints at a unique timeless aesthetic.

Land Rover
The all-new Range Rover Sport experienced its dynamic public debut at Goodwood.
This all-new generation of the Range Rover Sport model line offers huge advancements in technology, luxury and engine options.
The Range Rover Sport features slim LED lights, smooth lines, a coupe-like silhouette and huge 23" alloy wheels to make an impression. Inside the Sport features a beautiful interior with a 13.1" touchscreen, premium materials and comfortable seats.
The Range Rover Sport is avalilbe with petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid engines with a fully electric model coming in the future. The plug-in hybrid gets a 3.0-litre straight-six petrol engine paired with a 32kWh battery pack. You can either have 440hp in the P440e or 510hp from the P510e, and both will do a over 70 miles on electric power alone.

The Land Rover Defender 130 joins the Defender 110 and 90 versions as the largest model in the range. It features an extended wheelbase to allow enough space inside for eight adults to be transported in luxury.
Whilst there is space for eight, should you only need to carry five people the rear seating row can be folded down to give a huge cargo area of over 1200l of space.
The 130 is also in an exclusive colour called Sedona red which the show car at Goodwood was displayed in.
Apart from the longer rear overhang the Defender 130 offers the same style as the rest of the Defender range.

Lexus
The striking Lexus RZ was seen by the public for the first time at Goodwood FOS 2022.
The RZ is Lexus' first purpose built electric car. It comes with a sharp design with much of the DNA borrowed from the all-new Lexus NX. There are sharp creases throughout and the optional dual-tone paint and large alloy wheels add further to the impact of the RZ.
The RZ comes with a steering yoke which is steer-by-wire meaning that there is no mechanical link from the steering wheel to the front wheels, instead the steering is electronically controlled. This allows the steering to be more responsive and require less input to make driving easier.
The Lexus RZ comes with dual motors as standard which produce a combined output of 313hp to allow acceleration from 0-60mph in 5.6 seconds.

Lexus displayed for the first time outside of Japan the Lexus Electrified Sport Concept at Goodwood 2022, its vision for a future all-electric high-performance sports car.
The car features bold proportions and the low ride height you would expect of a sports car. Acceleration from 0-62mph could be under 2 seconds, whilst range is expected to be over 400 miles.
The Electrified Sport Concept demonstrates the exciting new cars Lexus could launch in the future.

Mercedes-Benz
Mercedes-AMG ran the Project ONE up the Goodwood hill climb at FOS 2022. The car uses the the latest and most efficient Formula 1 hybrid technology and brings it to a road-legal supercar. The Project ONE has over 1,000hp from a 1.6l V6 hybrid petrol engine with four electric motors.
The Project ONE is functional with every design element playing a part in the car's performance. The cockpit, which is set well forward, the large wheel arches and the wasp waist with its extensive tail are clear pointers to the car’s motorsports origins. The large black front spoiler, with air inlets stretching across the entire width of the vehicle, dominates the front view. Flat LED headlamps fit seamlessly into the body contours. The dynamic roofline features an air inlet which elegantly fuses into the vertical shark fin. The exhaust pipe design with a large round outlet and two further small openings is based directly on that of the Formula 1 vehicles. The highly functional design gives the vehicle a striking and distinct character.
The all-new Mercedes-AMG SL was on display this year.
It is a stylish convertible which offers performance and luxury.
The SL features AMG styling such as the large grille with vertical slats, large intakes, muscular styling and a quad-exhaust. Inside the SL has four seats, premium materials and a large central screen seen in the new S-Class.
The SL will come with a range of engines including the range topping SL 63 with 585hp to allow acceleration from 0-60mph in 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 195mph.

Porsche
The 911 Sport Classic is a special Porsche 911 special edition which references Porsches from the 1960s.
It features Sport Grey paint with the Turbo body, hand painted stripes, unique alloy wheels and a large fixed duck-tail spoiler.
The 911 Sport Classic has a 542bhp twin-turbocharged 3.7-litre flat-six with rear wheel drive and a seven-speed manual.

Toyota
Despite the UK allocation of GR86 models selling out in under an hour, the GR86 was featured running up the Goodwood hill climb.
The GR86 is designed for the purists with a 2.4l naturally aspirated engine which produces 240hp to allow acceleration from 0-60mph in 6.3 seconds and the option of a manual gearbox.
The Toyota GR86 weighs less than 1300kg whilst being 50% stiffer than the previous GT86 to ensure excellent handling.
The GR86 features a striking design with GR Yaris like styling such as a large grille and intakes, plus curved LED taillights, ducktail spoiler and twin exhausts.

The Toyota GR Supra with the new manual transmission experienced its dynamic UK debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, along with a special edition with Matt White paint finish and a tan leather interior with black accents.
Toyota has developed a six-speed gearbox and a new clutch for the GR Supra’s 335bhp turbocharged straight-six engine to give an even purer driving experience. It joins the other manual GR performance models; the GR86 and GR Yaris.
The 3.0l manual joins the 2.0 and 3.0l automatic versions in the range.
