The Audi e-tron GT and Q4 are of two of the latest additions to the Audi e-tron electric car family. The Q4 offers a premium feel, SUV looks and family car practicality whilst the GT provides a more premium, dynamic, and exclusive experience. These models aren’t just about style however, as both offer rapid charging and good range. The Q4 has 316 miles range and the GT 298 miles.

The first thing you notice when driving the Q4 e-tron is how quiet and comfortable it is. The electric motor no matter which version you choose offers plenty of power and the instant torque makes it easy to pull out and accelerate, whilst the silence adds a calming feel. There are three variants to choose from; the 35 has a 52kWh battery and 168bhp, the 40 has a 77kWh battery and 201bhp whilst the range topping 50 has all wheel drive and 295bhp. 

The Q4 always feels reassuring to drive and predicable due to its heavy steering and low centre of gravity which gives the car a balanced feel when driving on twister roads. The Q4’s raised body height gives a commanding view of the road and limits blind spots which makes it much easier to drive than other cars this size.

The e-tron GT has a low and sporty driving position which reflects the overall driving experience. The GT disguises its weight well, feeling balance and agile, barely leaning in any corner. The steering feels quite heavy but is quick and accurate which reassures you if you want to push the GT. There is more than enough power and torque as well to allow you to accelerate and enjoy any road. 

The GT RS adds to the drama and driving dynamics further with more power, upgraded suspension and chassis as well as a sportier look.

The Audi Q4 is a great looking car which combines Audi DNA and fresh looks, with sharp lines, the recognisable Audi grille and LED headlights. Large alloy wheels from 19” to 21” complete the look. 

The Q4 is also available as a Sportback with coupe-like flowing lines, 18mm dropped ride height and a sloping roof for extra style.

Inside the Q4 has expensive looking materials, a large 10.1” central touchscreen and digital instrument cluster which makes the interior feel very modern. It also feels spacious with a flat floor, lots of cubby holes for storage and a commanding view of the road ahead.

The Audi e-tron GT was co-designed with Porsche so has some of the same underpinnings as the Porsche Taycan. This can be seen with its wide and purposeful styling, sloping roofline and coupe looks. Touches such as the frameless doors and wide haunches give the GT a sporty look which reflects the power available from its electric motors.

The interior feels very luxurious with high quality leathers, Alcantara and trims, whilst the seats are comfortable and supportive. The interior blends the latest technology such as a digital instrument cluster and central touchscreen with conventional buttons for the climate control which are much easier to use especially when driving compared to systems which use the touchscreen.

There are three variants to choose from; the 35 has a 52kWh battery and 168bhp, the 40 has a 77kWh battery and 201bhp whilst the range topping 50 has all wheel drive and 295bhp. 

The 35 has the smaller 52kWh battery which has a range of 208 miles but due to its smaller size takes less time to charge. The 40 and 50 models are available with the 77kWh battery which provides a range of 316 miles.

The most powerful Q4 can accelerate from 0-62mph in just 6.2 seconds and the quattro all wheel drive system provides confidence even in difficult driving conditions. 

The Audi GT has two electric motors producing 469hp and for up to 2.5 seconds 522hp and all-wheel drive, allowing 0-62mph in 4.1 seconds. The battery provides a range of up to 298 miles and supports rapid charging at 270kW. 5 minutes of charging allows an additional range of 62 miles, whilst charging from 5-80% takes 23 minutes. 

The high-performance RS model produces 590hp and for 2.5 seconds 636hp which allows for 0-62mph in 3.3 seconds. 

Both models feature a large 12.3” Virtual Cockpit or digital driver’s display which shows a range of information and can be customised to show or prioritise different features depending on the driver’s preferences. 

Audi offers the Q4 with an upgraded HIFI system produced by Sonos. This system is made up of 10 speakers producing an output of 580 watts. It comes as part of the £1,295 Comfort and Sound pack, which also adds a reversing camera, Parking System Plus, and adaptive cruise control with speed limiter.

Both models come with LED lights as standard which provide a lighting signature and design detail during the day and at night-time. LED lights also use less power and provide greater illumination of the road ahead making it easier and safer to drive at night. The optional Matrix system can blank of part of the main beam to prevent you dazzling other road users whilst illuminating empty sections of the road ahead as much as possible.

Audi has a heavy focus on sustainability and recycled materials are used in both models inside and out. Inside, recycled materials are used in the insulation and damping materials. Dinamica materials used on the seats are made up of 45% recycled materials and the Puls fabric contains 50%. The seats in the Q4 use 26 1.5 litre recycled bottles for a high quality yet sustainable finish. 

The Q4 has a boot capacity of 520 litres with a wide opening and flat floor making it easy to load items into it. With the rear seats folded down the Q4 has a capacity of 1,490 litres. There is some under-floor storage which is ideal for hiding away cables and valuables.

Inside the Q4 there are comfortable seats for up to five adults, lots of storage cubbies and a large glove box.

The Audi GT has a boot capacity of 366 litres which can be expanded by folding the rear seats. There is also an 81 litre storage area under the front bonnet which provides space of the charging cables and bits and bobs. 

The interior is spacious and luxurious with plenty of legroom and storage, however the sloping roofline may headroom tight for taller passengers. 

The latest additions to the Audi e-tron family offer the latest developments from the electric car industry as well as the latest technology and Audi style.
